Onagraceae

  • California evening primrose is a widespread and variable perennial with a range extending across much of the coastal foothills and desert areas of California in a range of habitats. It begins life as a rosette plant but gradually elongates a peeling leafy stem that trails for 30 inches or more along the ground. The large white flowers open at night.
