  • One annual, capable of coloring large areas sandy flats ad washes, as well as disturbed roadsides is desert dandelion. This is the most common among a group of six desert dandelion species that share the traits of milky sap and ligulate flower heads. Desert dandelion has a rosette of basal leaves that forms early and then often becomes withered by the time that flowering occurs.
