  • Broom baccharis is a wash species with narrow linear leaves no more than 2 inches in length. It occurs widely across the western Sonoran Desert, as well as extending into coastal areas of southern California. It reaches 12 feet in height.   • Tall bushy shrub with green stems and twigs, and reduced leaves. Highly localized populations occur here and there at the margins of the dry lake beds south of El Desemboque and elsewhere, and along arroyos and floodplains of major streamways.
